At last weekend’s Gluten & Allergen Free Expo at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds over 2800 excited eaters crammed the aisles. About 150 gluten-free / allergen-free vendors were offering free tastes, samples and takeaways so no attendee could possibly leave hungry. These offerings included many types of bread (OUR favorite), beer, crackers, goat’s milk yogurt, energy bars, pastries, juice, and educational materials. Bread SRSLY’s booth was thankfully well-manned, and we were toasting double-time to get all of our samples out. Sadie, Cheryl, Katie and Yolanda sold and sampled a whopping 265 loaves of gluten-free sourdough bread, and were completely out halfway through day 2. Yolanda worked double-duty running around snapping photos of the expo and putting together this blog post. Thank you Yolanda!
We were lucky enough to be booth neighbors with Michelle of NanaJoe’s Granola (http://www.nanajoes.com/
), and attendees from last year were glad to see us each with a full-sized booth this round (at the 2013 expo we each had a small TV-dinner-sized folding table that we snuck in to the GF Grocery booth).
Between toastings we got to meet tons of gluten-free business owners and representatives and left feeling so excited to be a part of the warm and welcoming gluten-free community. But my favorite part of these events is always getting to meet our customers face-to-face. You all are the reason we’ve stayed afloat these 2 and a half years of baking, and your excitement is contagious. We love to bake for the people who love our bread! Thank you!
